In my research I explore disparities in diagnosis and subsequent intervention services among Latinx children and youth with autism. I utilize a multidisciplinary framework in which I intersect developmental psychology, social work and public health disciplines. I infuse my personal identity as a Latina living with a developmental disability, practice experience working with Latinx children and youth with autism and their families, as well as my research skills to develop and implement culturally informed interventions to affect change for Latinx children and youth with autism, their families, and the communities in which they thrive. The proposed ATRP is benefited by my expertise in culturally-informed, community-engaged research theory and methods as well as my practice experience with Latinx families and communities.
